Summary

The pandemic has affected 1.6 billion children as schools have shut worldwide.First generation learners are disproportionately at risk as this break could mean they drop out of the education system. School ki Ghanti is an initiative to educate under-privileged children aged 6-12 years, from distressed communities and low income house-holds through a storytelling routine, especially during the lockdown, in the times of Covid-19.This initiative is trying to reimagine learning in the form of storytelling via phone calls. It aims to make education inclusive and accessible even for those who have no access to the internet. This school bell rings Monday to Friday, sharp at 4 p.m, which brings to children scheduled story based lessons. What started with phone calls reaching 30 kids in May, now has more than 300 kids listening in, diligently doing the activities as instructed at the end of each story.
