Summary

Mumbai First is a not-for-profit that catalyzes making Mumbai a better place to live, work, leisure, and do business. With its unique model of public-private partnership, it was set up by India’s industry leaders 25 years ago. The Tatas, Mahindras, Godrej, ICICI, Asian Paints, and HDFC are a few of the patrons of this organization which has worked with the Union & State Governments and Municipalities as a nonpartisan body able to engage ordinary citizens, experts, and captains of industry. Mumbai First fulfills its role mission by researching, catalyzing, advocating, and networking. Today, it is one of the most successful examples of Public-Private Partnerships in the world. Mumbai First has the distinction of collaborating with international associations (European Union, BRICS, etc.), the World Bank, Consulates of different countries (USA, Netherland, UK, etc.), world-renowned NGOs (London First, City Net, etc.), and academic institutions all over the world.

Causes Working On

been constantly evolving and organizes international conferences, awareness programs, training workshops, and roundtable discussions on the most relevant issues in the city (across nine verticals known as missions- Environment, Governance, Health, Education, Financial & Economic Growth, Art, Heritage & Culture, Transport & Mobility, Security & Resilience, and Housing).
