About GMR Varalakshmi Foundation: GMR Varalakshmi Foundation (GMRVF) is the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of the GMR Group. The Group has been undertaking CSR activities on a significant scale since 1991. Skill training is one of the key activities of the Foundation. GMRVF & Skill Training: GMRVF started its vocational training journey at Rajam, Srikakulam distt, Andhra Pradesh in 2003, and since then has trained over 70,000 youth in 30-35 different types of skills. The training programmes are largely for school and college dropout youth from the marginalized sections of the society and are linked to both wage and self-employment. As of now, GMRVF runs 15 skill training centres around the country, training around 7000 youth every year, with more than 80% settlement rate.
