Summary

DBM INDIA (DBM) is a humanitarian organization working to create lasting change in the lives of children, families and communities living in poverty & injustice. DBM serves all people regardless of religion, caste, race, ethnicity or gender. DBM under the legal umbrella of Navasrushti International Trust has set its objective as Hunger-Free-India. Under the Hunger-Free-India campaign DBM has adopted the 3E approach – Education, Employment & Empowerment.

Causes Working On

? Providing mid day meals to around 2000 children in 11 adopted schools. Till date provided some 4.5 million meals to the school children tackling malnourishment and undernourishment. ? Skilling some 2000 youth and women every year through its 4 Vocational Training Centers which offer courses like Tailoring, Beautician, Mehndi, Mobile Repairing, Balwadi Teacher Training, Para Nursing & Computer Courses. For computer courses DBM has a tie up with renowned institutes like NIIT, CISCO, MSCIT etc. to offer the courses at a nominal cost for the underprivileged people. Till date some 14000 + youth including women. Around 30% of them have got jobs and another 30% have started their own enterprise. ? Educational Interventions – Scholarships, Teaching English, Maths & Science through Volunteers, Setting up Libraries and Study Centres, Mobile Science Labs etc. ? Running a higher education help centre cum Library & Study Centre for the youth of M-ward, Mumbai in association with TISS.
