Summary

Yash Charitable Trust (YCT) was founded in 2014 by Dr. Sushama Nagarkar with the aim of enhancing the quality of lives for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities (PwIDD) such as autism, Down syndrome, and other intellectual disabilities by providing options for skilling and livelihood and providing support for their mental health as well as other pertinent resources as they navigate the adult world. Under the aegis of YCT, we run two verticals: Skilling and Supported Employment Program (SSEP) which consists of the skill development centre (SDC) and a supported employment initiative known as Arpan Food Services (AFS). The flagship program under the AFS is Café Arpan which has generated immense interest in the community at large. The Adult Support Kendra provides counseling and mental health support services to all adults and families who need such interventions.
