SAKHA is a pioneer state level community-based organization (CBO) working for Transgender/ Hijra community for their empowerment, by promoting their rights and dignity, against social stigma & discrimination, working for inclusion and overall wellbeing. SAKHA, started working with the community since 2007 with a small likeminded support group .SAKHA (our rights…..our dignity……) started a support system for TG/HIJRA from BHUBANESWAR, ODISHA. It’s a multi-faceted organization serving various needs of the TG/ HIJRA population and conducting activities to empower and mainstream the community in the society .SAKHA is always working to create employment opportunities through skill building & training, Advocacy & lobby with different industries as well as with different CSRs in order to move the community from begging & other activities to preferred positions/services to enable them to live with dignity in society.
