Summary

Foundation for Education and Development (FED) is a highly respected, not for profit organization, working in education, established by Mr. Anil Bordia, former Secretary of Education, Government of India and other renowned educationists, in 2000. FED launched its innovative programme Doosra Dashak (DD), which literally means the second decade, for the holistic education and development of adolescents, especially girls, in the 11-20 years age group, in 2001. DD seeks to provide value based and skills-oriented education to harness the leadership potential of youth for social transformation. It endeavors to focus on adolescents, who were deprived of schooling, and make their education a driver for socio economic transformation. DD has worked in more than 1,000 villages in seven districts of Rajasthan. The programme has worked intensively with more than 1,00,000 adolescents, to date, with excellent results.
