Summary

Since 2016, Project DEFY has empowered marginalised communities across Asia and Africa to be part of a paradigm where communities unlock their potential to solve their own local socio-economic problems. Project DEFY has set up learning spaces called Nooks within marginalised communities which transfers the choice of learning back into the hands of learners. Using the same community-led and community-first philosophy, Project DEFY conceptualised DISPECS which seeks to empower marginalised communities to mitigate the harmful effects of Natural Disasters and drastically reduce their dependence on external stakeholders and agencies.
