Summary

Sports Literacy Mission was launched at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi in the presence of 20 Arjuna Award winners, Paralympians and Dronacharya Awardees from various sports on 22nd August, 2017 by NGO Sports: A Way of Life founded by 25 year old budding writer Kanishka Pandey, a student of Delhi University. Dr. Pandey said his NGO had recently conducted a nationwide survey to gauge the public mood vis-a-vis participation in various sports activities. The survey proved to be an eye-opener. According to the findings, less than 5% of people have interest in sports whereas less than 2% females were interested in sports.
