Summary

In 2008, SST was formed and since then it is working for the development of poor and marginalized people, emphasizing on the socio economic backward communities, Women and Children, by strengthening community based organizations directly and through networking. SST has presence in Tijara block of Alwar district of Rajasthan, Derabassi in Punjab, Rudauli block in Ayodhya district of Uttar Pradesh and Gurugram in Haryana.

Causes Working On

Women Empowerment: We work with women encompasses varied age groups and aspects. The broad focus area has been collective group formation, leadership development, microfinance and their livelihood. Natural Resource Management (NRM based Livelihoods) The initiatives on NRM comprises of leveling of private wasteland, in-situ rain water harvesting, construction of rainwater harvesting structures, rejuvenation of village ponds and creating awareness on water conservation and promoting water saving technologies for irrigation like sprinkler, drip irrigation. Education:Nai Pahal is an initiative of SST which aims to provide quality education to underprivileged children of rural areas. Program emphasizes on providing safe and conducive infrastructure to students to learn and to provide additional learning support through resource teachers. Health & WASH Improving WASH infrastructure by creating basic amenities drinking water, toilets, hand wash and sanitization stations etc.
