Summary

Organisation Background: PRADAN is a premier not for profit organization that works with vulnerable communities on institution building, livelihood opportunities, and enhancing quality of life towards socio-economic and political empowerment. Established in 1983, PRADAN along with its partners, works with 2 million women spread across seven states, as on 31st March 2023. By 2030, we aspire to impact 50 million lives. PRADAN has close to 700 staff that work in 60 field teams and 11 integrating offices besides the head office at Delhi.

Causes Working On

Founded in 1983, PRADAN has played a design improvement role in all major programs like the Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP), National Rural Employment Programme (NREP), Swarnajayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY), Nehru Rozgar Yojana (NRY), and National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) to improve the field implementation of the Government of India’s (GoI) rural development programs. PRADAN is the National Support Organisation to NRLM, the flagship rural development programme. The entrenched nature of poverty in the country-side requires longer timelines of engagement, both in terms of human resources deployed as well as the critical investments on communities. Large funders and philanthropies have extended support to PRADAN for significant periods of time across varied geographies and multiple themes. These include Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), IKEA Foundation, Tata Trusts, Ford Foundation, Axis Bank Foundation and others.
