Summary

Amhi is a project that protects the environment through effective solid waste management. In November 2021 Hansu Pardiwala , Kiran Patel and Rosalind Pereira with the support of second home residents in three villages of Raigad set up Amhi. Amhi now collect solid non-biodegradable waste from 10 villages in this district. The collected material is segregated at our centre in KASHID under 11 broad parameter and sent to respective recycler. We employ 15 safai sathis to collect and segregate this waste: the average monthly collection is approximately 10 metric tonnes. We aim to make Raigad zero garbage district and duplicate our method : local residents support and small infrastructural footprint , in other villages and districts.
