Summary

Janhit Vikas Samiti (JVS), Nawada is a non profit organization established in 1985 on 11th October on the birth day of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan by a group of persons having keen interest in the socio-economic transformation of the state. It was registered under Indian Society Registration Act, 21 of 1860 on 30th January, 1989. Since its inception, JVS has taken up the issues of social and economic development especially of the poor rural people through natural resources management along with many socio-economic development programmes in the rural areas at the grass root level. In its course of community based processes JVS was instrumental in promoting and facilitating the movements like ‘Ahar Pyne Bachao Abhiyan’ (APBA).
