Summary

The Society for Applied Studies was established by Dr. Dilip Mahalanabis in the Year 1990 in West Bengal. In Year 2004, Dr. Mahalanabis extended support to a group of researchers led by Dr. Nita Bhandari to set up the Centre for Health Research and Development, Society for Applied Studies (CHRD, SAS) in New Delhi to pursue research in maternal and child health. The Centre for Health Research and Development, Society for Applied Studies (CHRD, SAS), New Delhi, is a premier research organization in India. It pursues research and innovation in communities, primarily at the population level. It develops and evaluates single and integrated interventions that can potentially achieve the desired health impact at different points in the life cycle for mothers and children.
