Summary

Sustainable drinking water supply in villages is organized by the Government under Jal Jeevan Mission utilizing the river or lake (tank) water, groundwater or harvested rainwater. Where groundwater is heavily contaminated, surface water is utilized from nearby commonly perennial tanks (lakes).
