Overview of the Role

Social awareness and economic empowerment-

? Formation of SHGS as per set target with the support of community-based resource persons.

? Build capacities of community-based resource persons (CRPs) on SHG rules and regulations, leadership, communication and conflict management and health and hygiene, on gender empowerment, social issues (like child marriage, domestic violence, etc). social protection schemes from different departments, et. See that CRPs will deliver all these training modules to members of SHGs

? Facilitate the formation of Village Organizations and conduct meetings.

? Health and Social Awareness campaigning, community building.

? Work on the development of livelihoods options for the women and implementation of the same including vocational training and enterprise support, credit, marketing support

Strategic Functions-

? Make linkages with local Anganwadi centers, banks, government schools, and public health centers and see that members of SHGs access the services

? Conducting regular surveys for impact assessment of the project

? Send consolidated monthly reports to the Project Manager about the progress of the project

? Any other activity pertaining to the project that may arise from time to time.

The candidate will be based in Varanasi and is expected to be comfortable with daily travel to rural areas. The role is most suitable for those who are keenly interested in understanding and engaging closely with issues of gender, poverty, livelihoods, and development.

Salary per month

INR 8000 /- will be provided per month, in addition to transportation (Rs 2000) and communication ( Rs 250) in Varanasi. This may be reviewed based on performance after a period of 3 months. ( 9,500)
