Qualifications, Experiences, Skills and Competencies required:
• Masters in Agriculture/ Agricultural Economics or B Sc./ B. Tech in Agriculture
• At least 5 years of work experience with reputed organizations working towards improvement of agriculture/ rural livelihoods/ livelihood security
• Work experience should be primarily on the use of agriculture and allied activities for enhancement of incomes of rural poor
• Have experience on providing technical support to community people for improved farming with agricultural activities such as; Commercial vegetable cultivation, Organic Rice Cultivation, Pulses-Red Gram (Arhar) cultivation, Pulses-Black Gram cultivation, etc.
• Ability to conduct/ impart training/awareness/orientation programs for the project staff and community people on sustainable agriculture, appropriate technology, food & livelihood security and environmental protection etc.
• Provide training to community people on; establishing market linkages, improved commercial vegetable farming, indigenous cultivation with minor millet, etc.
• To monitor all the agricultural activities undertaken by the project
• Provide technical support for developing crop demonstration of minor millets
• Provide support to CBOs and SHGs for assessing the potentialities for social/ community forestry, orchard development, homestead plantation
• Generate case stories/ human-interest stories and maintain data base on agriculture practices for sharing with others
• Willingness to travel extensively across various project locations for monitoring visit and to provide technical support as and when required.
