Job Description

Human and Institutional Development Forum (HID Forum), Bengaluru is looking for a dynamic and self-directed social development professional as its Executive Director. 

HIDF contends that the role of an enabler / facilitator of development requires multi-level skills that range from clarity in social perspectives at one end to accompanying and holding planned change at the other. It covers this spectrum in its engagement with social development. The ED will be expected to ideate, design and extend HIDF’s reach to the social development sector.

 


 

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must possess

-a Master’s degree in social sciences from a reputed university,

-experience of atleast 7 years in a leadership position leading a team.

- experience in and a demonstrated competence in organisational development, capacity building and community development programmes.


Should be fluent in one south Indian language, preferably Kannada in addition to English.

Desired Candidate Profile

The Executive Director will represent HIDF and report to the Governing Board of HIDF performing the following roles: 

1.     Strategic role

? Strategic Planning, leading and coordinating the activities of HID Forum

? Providing direction for programmes / projects

? Developing strategic partnerships to enhance Forum’s outreach.

?   Raising funds for the organisation and programmes 

2.     Governance

?         Coordinate the governance of HIDF with board through board meetings and sub committee meetings 

?     Ensuring follow up action on decisions taken at the Board meetings,

3.     Finance Management

?         Accounts and finance: Authorisation, management and tracking of accounts and finance.

4.     Relationship building 

?         Networking, finding opportunities, marketing and branding HIDF, ? Partnering with critical stakeholders and strategic partners. 

5.     Programme Management

? Training, coordination, accompaniment and documentation of Programmes / projects

? Sourcing new partners, appraising new projects, Planning Interventions and trainings 

? Monitoring and Review of project activities and projects funds as per budget allocated

Its focus is on the most marginalised communities that are informal economy workers, gender and identity groups (LGBTQIA+), Dalits, Adivasis, particularly women, through CBOs, people’s organisations and NGOs working with these communities. The support is through 1) Community Strengthening- creating spaces for marginalised communities to identify and solve their own problems 2) Partnership Development – grassroots local organisations strengthen their vision, mission, systems, 3) Competency Building – programmes on leadership, programme delivery, facilitation skills, cadre building, women’s leadership and building development perspectives. 4) Research and Knowledge Building – a thematic where HID Forum shares knowledge in the form of articles and papers related to its work, based on its experience in the field
