Job Description

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

The Operations Coordinator will streamline the functioning of the production, quality assurance and procurement related functions of the Social Enterprise Initiative. She will oversee the process as well as plan and ensure implementation of the entire production from end to end. Some level of understanding of tailoring and craft is preferred.

Production

• Prepare production schedules and targets for the KTC unit and the shelter homes/sites. Review and adjust the schedule where needed
• Closely monitor the production schedule and targets. Ensure timeliness
• Manage human and material resources to meet production targets
• Work out and implement standard operating procedures for production operations; Determine and implement improvements to the production process
• Prepare and maintain production reports
• Make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification and procurement in consultation with senior management
• Estimate production costs and product pricing
• Manage cost control and wastage
• Maintain production, order and stock record
• Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures

Sourcing and Procuring

• Determine the material resources required
• Strengthen procurement procedures
• Streamline procurement sources; Tie up with vendors for affordable and quality raw materials and accessories

Quality Assurance

• Streamline product quality standards/checklists/systems
• Monitor quality standards of products
• Ensure adherence to the established quality assurance system at all times

Overall

• Ensure co-ordination with current clients & designer/s.
• Work in close coordination with the staff at Kshamata to ensure seamless production at the KTC Enterprise Unit and in the shelter homes 
• Ensure support to trainers cum production supervisors for smooth implementation of production and income generation activities; Hold regular meetings with all trainers cum production supervisors

Eligibility Criteria

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors in any stream or fashion designing /tailoring/ Bachelor – business management / operations
• Basic knowledge of raw materials & market sources
• Basic knowledge of quality systems and standards
• Basic computer skills
