Job Description

Janhit Vikas Samiti (JVS), Nawada is a non profit organization established in 1985 on 11th October on the birth day of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan by a group of persons having keen interest in the socio-economic transformation of the state. It was registered under Indian Society Registration Act, 21 of 1860 on 30th January, 1989. Since its inception, JVS has taken up the issues of social and economic development especially of the poor rural people through natural resources management along with many socio-economic development programmes in the rural areas at the grass root level. In its course of community based processes JVS was instrumental in promoting and facilitating the movements like ‘Ahar Pyne Bachao Abhiyan’ (APBA). JVS also works as an active partner with the developmental and social welfare initiatives of the government such as operating Child Protection Committee.JVS working in guidance of Welthungerhilfe,BMZ in eight districts of south Bihar on “Securing land and water rights for marginalized communities through people led advocacy” JVS working in the field of Free Child Labour in the Districts Nawada and Jamui in Bihar , Koderma and Giridih in Jharkhand with support and guidance from International Labour Organization (ILO) New Delhi, Livelihood Promotion through Renovation of Traditional Water Structures and small enterprises Supported by Azimpremji Foundation , Promotion of Farmer Producer Organization (F.P.O)for Goat Rearing and related activities Supported by NABARD
