The role of the HR manager therefore is vital to ensuring effective hiring, talent engagement, talent development and retention across all touchpoints in the employee lifecycle. The HR Manager role will be an individual contributor role reporting into the Co-Founder.


Our ideal candidate will be skilled in hiring, managing compensation and benefits, employee recognition, coordinating training activities, monitoring performance management processes and employee retention initiatives such that Mann is viewed as an Employer of Choice. The HR Manager would also be responsible for ensuring diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) within our organization through the right HR practices.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing talent acquisition process –  including advertising, sourcing, testing, interviewing, coordinating panel interviews and final interviews, informing candidates on their results, rolling out offers and hiring based on the organization’s best practice checklist
  • Ensuring effective and structured onboarding of all new hires based on the organization’s best practice checklist
  • Ensuring probationary reviews are completed on time and confirmation letters generated in a timely manner
  • Ensuring all job descriptions, KRA sheets and employee letters are up-to-date and accurate
  • Coordinating and monitoring org-wide adherence to the organization’s performance management processes - including coordinating periodic check ins by managers, and managing the timelines for the annual appraisal cycle
  • Creating and updating compensation data annually through market analysis and pay surveys
  • Coordinating  the organization’s grievance handling process through timely and efficient investigation and resolution of employee grievances; offering active support to managers in resolving grievances within their teams and functions
  • Keeping abreast of learning platforms (training programs, seminars, conferences etc.), and coordinating L&D calendar for employees and managers with optimum utilization of L&D budget
  • Maintaining the HR database -  e.g. employee data, attendance, leaves, rewards and appreciation, promotions, retitling and transfers, PIPs, record of conversation forms, etc.
  • Coordinating employee engagement events using the annual employee events calendar
  • Ensuring statutory adherence to all applicable labour laws, regulations, and industry standards to mitigate legal risks and foster a fair and just work environment.
  • Ensuring timely documentation of PIPs and monitoring PIP closures
  • Running annual policy refresher sessions and compliance courses such as POSH, etc.
  • Ensuring disciplinary action for policy violations are effectively documented and recorded
  • Ensuring timely retention discussions incase of resignations, and effective exit and offboarding processes using the organization’s best practice checklist




Location and Travel:

This is a full-time role based in our Mumbai office, with some travel involved (based on organizational needs).



Eligibility Criteria

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any stream with an HR certification
  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience in HR
  • Prior experience in the social sector or special education field would be an added advantage.

Graduation - BHRM

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in MS Office / Google Work Suite
  • Knowledge of HR areas as listed above in the ‘Duties and Responsibilities’ section
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and collaboration skills
  • Self-Driven with high levels of integrity and perseverance
