• Oversee the financial operations of the organization and ensure timely and accurate financial reports and
practices including cash management, payroll, financial disbursements, ledgers etc. at State office

1. Financial Recordkeeping:

5. Audit Preparation and Coordination:
o Assist in preparing for annual external audits, including gathering necessary documentation and working with auditors to address any questions or discrepancies.
o Implement recommendations from audits to improve financial practices and controls.
6. Grant and Contract Management:
o Oversee grant management processes, ensuring timely submission of financial reports to grantors and compliance with grant terms.
o Track spending against grants and contracts, ensuring that funds are used appropriately.
7. Tax Compliance and Regulatory Filings:
o Ensure compliance with tax regulations and oversee the preparation and filing of relevant tax returns, such as the annual tax form for non-profits.
o Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws, financial regulations, and compliance requirements affecting non-profits.
8. Internal Controls and Financial Policies:
o Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure financial integrity.
o Establish and enforce financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and prevent fraud or mismanagement.
9. Payroll and Employee Benefits:
o Process payroll and manage employee benefits, including pension funds, insurance, and other benefits in compliance with labor laws.
o Ensure accurate calculation and timely disbursement of salaries and other employee reimbursements.
10. Collaboration and Communication:
o Work closely with the executive team, program managers, and the fundraising department to ensure financial alignment with program goals.
o Present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders, including board members and donors.
