Job Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Speech and Language Therapist at NGO Tamana in New Delhi. The Speech and Language Therapist will be responsible for providing speech therapy, addressing dysphagia, and treating communication and language disorders. The role involves working with individuals with diverse needs to improve their communication skills and abilities.

Eligibility Requirements

• Bachelor in Audiology, Speech amd Language Pathology
• RCI recognised Diploma in Hearing , Speech and Language
• Valid RCI CRR no
• Ability to conduct assessments of speech and language disorders
• Minimum two years experience of working with children with disabilities
• Experience in treating Communication and Language Disorders and speech delays.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Empathy and patience in working with individuals with special needs
• Knowledge of sign language.
• Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices

Tamana was born out of the living faith and optimism of Dr. Shayama Chona (Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri Awardee), mother of Tamana Chona, who was born spastic with cerebral palsy. For its contribution in the field of disabilities, Tamana was accredited & granted a Special Consultative Status by the United Nations Economic and Social Council in 2005. Tamana has three centres in Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. Its first centre 'Tamana Special Education Centre' was inaugurated by the late Lady Diana, Princess of Wales in 1992, and is known as the 'Tamana Special Education Centre'.
